Scotland has a high rate of fire deaths. People with vulnerabilities, such as those with alcohol problems and other issues, are at higher risk of causing fires through careless disposal of cigarettes and cooking. They may require support to protect themselves from fire risk. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) can offer Home Fire Safety Visits (HFSV), free of charge, to help reduce fire risk. This one-hour briefing will introduce how the SFRS can reduce the risk of harm from fire and new legal requirements on fire safety.
