The course will raise awareness and support professionals, carers and volunteers in understanding and managing the needs of children and young people displaying problematic or harmful sexual behaviour (HSB).
Who is this learning for?
This training is essential learning for anyone who comes across children, adults and families in the course of their work in East Lothian or Midlothian, either paid or voluntary.
What are the learning outcomes?
Upon completion of the course participants will:
Be able to explain the key terminology and definitions in relation to HSB
Have an understanding of how to identify HSB
Have an understanding of influencing factors of HSB
Have an understanding of implementing safety plans and managing risk
Have an overview of technology assisted HSB.
This training will be delivered by David Russell who is the Chief Executive Officer at Parent to Parent. David has extensive experience in providing assessments and interventions for vulnerable children, adolescents and adults within the field of sexual harm and violence.
