About VCEL

Our Partnerships - together we make a bigger difference

VCEL works collaboratively, in partnership with other public and third sector organisations which share our values of a fairer society.

Proud to work in partnership with the following organisations, we benefit greatly from their support, collaboration, funding and endorsement.

Partners and Funders

By signing up to the Volunteer Charter, and guided by its ten key principles, we take active steps to ensure good and equal relations between our employees and volunteers.

Our pledge to The Armed Forces Covenant demonstrates VCEL’s commitment to ensuring those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated with fairness and respect in our local communities, economy and society.

Through our pledge to the Disability Confident initiative we commit to ensuring that those with disabilities are treated fairly and have access to the same opportunities as everyone else. VCEL warmly welcomes disabled applicants for all roles.

With the funding we receive from East Lothian Council, we’re able to continue and develop our work in the third sector and we thank our local authority for their support

Gatherwell, our external lottery manager, helps facilitate our East Lothian Community Lottery which supports local good causes making a difference to our communities.

VCEL is committed to tackling discrimination and underrepresentation within our organisation. And through our Equality Action pledge we commit to achieving diversity and fair representation across our Board, senior leadership, staff, volunteers and service users by all relevant protected characteristics.

We thank Capital Credit Union for their regular donations to our Community Food Pantry.

We’re grateful to the National Lottery for funding our Youth Befriending Service which provides life-enhancing support for vulnerable young people.

As a member of Scotland’s anti-poverty movement, we actively help communities to tackle poverty in all its forms across East Lothian
