Volunteering Awards East Lothian

VCEL champions the Inspiring Volunteer Awards and is also involved in the Scottish Government’s Saltire Awards programme.

Inspiring Volunteer Awards

The Inspiring Volunteer Awards are all about celebrating the amazing efforts and achievements of volunteers in East Lothian. Nominations can be individual or team based and there are seven award categories:

Community, Environmental & Education, Health & Wellbeing, Outstanding Trustee, Volunteer Team, Young Volunteer of the Year (under 25) and Lifelong Commitment Volunteer of the Year.

The communities of East Lothian are made all the better because of people volunteering their time and skills for the benefit of others. So if you know of anyone you think deserves an award let us know by nominating them!

Saltire Awards East Lothian

The Scottish Government's Saltire Awards recognise, celebrate and reward the commitment, contribution and achievements of young volunteers in Scotland aged 12 to 25.

Young people receive nationally recognised certificates in honour of their volunteering activities.

Volunteers make things happen

Without the incredible contributions of time, energy and skills from volunteers, it wouldn’t be possible for many voluntary support services to reach those in our community who need a bit of extra help. At VCEL we know that volunteers are the beating heart of what we do, so being able to demonstrate this through our special awards means a great deal to us and is the highlight of our year!

On behalf of the VCEL team, thank you to each and every volunteer - past, current and future.
