Inspiring Volunteer Awards 2026 | Nominations Now Open!
Every shortlisted nominee will be recognised and celebrated as an award recipient.
The closing date for nominations is 5:00 PM on Friday, April 3rd. Nominations will not be accepted after this date.
We’re delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the Inspiring Volunteer Awards 2026, East Lothian’s annual celebration of the remarkable volunteers who make our communities stronger, kinder and more connected.
Organised by Volunteer Centre East Lothian (VCEL), the awards shine a light on the dedication, compassion and hard work of volunteers across the county. This year, we’re introducing a refreshed and more inclusive format:
Every shortlisted nominee will be recognised and celebrated as an award recipient.
Instead of selecting a single winner in each category, the 2026 awards will honour all shortlisted volunteers with a certificate and a small thank you gift at a special celebration event in May.
A New Celebration Format for 2026
Shortlisted volunteers and their nominators will be invited to our warm and uplifting Inspiring Volunteer Awards Celebration on Friday 29th May, taking place at:
The Store Club Tranent
East Lothian Co‑operative Bowling & Social Club, Tranent
The event will feature:
Afternoon tea
Music and entertainment
Soundbites of nominees
Photos showcasing volunteers in action
It’s a chance for the whole community to come together and recognise the difference volunteers make every day.
Who Can You Nominate?
Anyone who volunteers in East Lothian, or who lives locally and volunteers in the county, can be nominated. We welcome nominations from organisations, community groups, and individuals.
With seven categories to choose from, there’s a place for every kind of volunteering contribution.
Submit Your Nomination
Nominations are open until 5pm on Friday 3rd April 2026.
Help us celebrate the people who give their time, skills and passion to support others.
We can’t wait to hear your inspiring stories.
