Change in Services
Closure of the Community Pantry
After careful consideration and evaluation of our community’s needs, we have made the decision to close VCEL’s Community Pantry. This change will take effect from Monday 22nd July 2024. We understand that the pantry has been a valuable resource for many, and this decision was not made lightly.
Introduction of Emergency Basic Food Bags
In place of the Community Pantry, we are introducing a new service: Emergency Basic Food Bags. These food bags are designed to provide essential items to individuals and families in urgent need of food support. The Emergency Basic Food Bags will include a selection of non-perishable items to help you through.
How to Access Emergency Basic Food Bags:
Visit our Office: You can collect an Emergency Basic Food Bag directly from our office during the hours of 10am - 12pm.
Referrals to the Foodbank
In addition to the Emergency Basic Food Bags, we continue to provide referrals to the local food bank. If you need more extensive support, we can refer you to the food bank, which offers a broader range of food and essentials.
How to Get a Referral:
1. Visit our Office: Speak to one of our team members, and they will assist you with the referral process.
2. Call Us: Reach out to us at 01875 615 423 and we will guide you through the referral process over the phone.
