ASIST - Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

Are you working or volunteering in East Lothian? Want to feel more confident supporting someone who may be thinking about suicide?

ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) is a practical, two-day workshop that gives you the tools to provide life-saving support. You’ll learn how to:

  • Recognise signs someone may be at risk

  • Offer immediate, compassionate support

  • Develop a personalised safety plan

  • Connect people with ongoing help

This training is completely free thanks to funding from the East Lothian Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund and is open to anyone over 18 – whether you're a community volunteer, teacher, carer, keyworker or simply someone who wants to help.
