Anam Cara is a registered Scottish charity that has been supporting women in East Lothian and Midlothian for over seven years. Anam Cara was developed by women who recognised a gap in services to provide a lived experience approach to supporting women's emotional well-being, aiming to empower women to live braver and more positive lives.
About Courage over Fear
Anam Cara provide Courage Over Fear self-management wellbeing workshops for women experiencing low self-worth, stress, anxiety or are at risk of using unhealthy coping mechanisms to help cope with their emotions. Women who attend our workshops will learn skills and techniques that can help them improve their emotional and physical wellbeing, along with strategies that have been proven to prevent any further decline in their mental health.
Through the team sharing real life experiences, women can safely explore subjects like vulnerability, authenticity and low self- worth, and help develop skills and techniques that are true “game changers”.
Our unique form of delivery creates a compassionate, non- judgmental space for women to develop skills, without fear of judgement and which are held in safe, local environments in and around the Lothian’s.
Anam Cara’s unique approach can provide support to women on their pathway to making positive changes in their lives. We believe that in order to find true happiness, you need look no further than within yourself.
