Using the EMPPC Neglect Toolkit

An EMPPC priority is to ensure staff across all services are equipped to understand and respond to neglect. As part of this work we have developed a Neglect Toolkit to support identification, assessment, analysis and planning where there are issues or risk of child neglect. The toolkit can be used by any professional working with a family where there are concerns about neglect. It is designed for use with children of any age pre-birth to older teenagers and supports professionals to work with the family in identifying risks, strengths and solutions. The toolkit can be used alongside your own agency’s assessment or report templates to enhance multi-agency assessment and analysis.
