Social Enterprise Scotland: From Idea to Ownership: Community Asset Transfer & Facilities Management

Social Enterprise Scotland are bringing you the experts to talk about community ownership and community asset transfer.

  • Linda Gillespie, Head of Community Ownership at the Community Ownership Support Service (COSS) – part of Development Trusts Association Scotland (DTAS) – will walk us through the nuts and bolts of Community Asset Transfer (CAT) and how to get CAT-ready.

  • Funded by the Scottish Government, COSS helps community groups across Scotland take on ownership or management of land and buildings, and supports relevant authorities through the asset transfer process.

  • They also run the Facilities Management network, offering resources and peer support to groups running community spaces.

You can also hear directly from a community group who has been through (or is going through) the process – sharing their wins, challenges, and lessons learned.

And of course – plenty of time for your questions and to swap ideas and experiences with others.
