NHS Education: Spider in the Glass: webinar Part 4 - The Spiderlings - Children and the Abusive relationship

Author Myra Ross is a Health Improvement Specialist with the Health Improvement Team, in Public Health NHSH. Myra is also a retired Police Officer with a special interest in domestic abuse and child protection. She has spent many years working with young people with care experience, within the Care System and in education.

Myra developed the Spider in the Glass model and uses this in her training sessions. She was previously the training officer for the Highland Violence Against Women Partnership where she was responsible for writing the Imagine poem as part of the national 16 Days of Activism campaign against gender-based violence. Myra uses poetry and storytelling to create understanding and enhance the learning on gender-based violence and the abuse of power.

About this webinar

On the first of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence 2025, this session will revisit The Spider In The Glass Model and look at relationships in which children are abused and exploited.  This session will look at this experience from the perspective of the child.
