  • ELC Outdoor Learning Service Balcarres Road Musselburgh, Scotland, EH21 SR United Kingdom (map)

This course provides you with a dual qualification which is valid for 3 years.  It is a regulated qualification and learners are required to attend both days and all course teaching hours to gain certification.  If any aspect of the teaching and learning is missed, it might not be possible to finish the course, and your place will still be charged.

Who is delivering this training?

Safe Hands First Aid Training Ltd

Physical fitness

First aid can be physically demanding - you must be fit and able to meet all standards for assessment – this includes being able to perform CPR on the floor to the correct depth and pace of compressions for at least 2 minutes.  We would normally expect learners to be capable of bending, kneeling and working on the floor so it is important that you let us know of any health conditions which may impact this. Additional safety measures are in place to ensure our courses are delivered as safely as possible.  Please do not attend if you are unwell.

Assessment

Assessment methods for this qualification include trainer observation of practical skills and some written questions.  You will be fully supported through all aspects of the assessment process and the written assessment can be scribed if necessary.

Accessibility

If you think you might need extra help to access any part of the course or assessment (e.g because of hearing/visual impairments or dyslexia etc), please let us know. We will try to make reasonable adjustments and adaptations where possible. This course will be delivered in English.  Learners with English as an additional language can make use of a dictionary or other means of translation to support their understanding (this includes use of a BSL interpreter if required).

Preparation

If you have long hair, please bring something to tie it back.  Comfortable clothing (ideally trousers), and flat shoes are advised.

Personal ID requirement

Our Awarding Body requires us to check the identity of all learners.  Please bring a form of photo ID with you eg driving licence or student card etc.

Please complete the Course Registration Form before attending so we can consider any health or disability information which may impact your participation in the course.  If you are unable to do this electronically you can complete a paper version on the day of the course.
