LAMMERMUIR LARDER
The Lammermuir Larder Group is a local community food initiative based in Haddington, East Lothian. The Larder offers emergency food provision together with an advocacy service, providing a holistic approach to support those in challenging situations.
Emergency food is available Monday to Friday, and deliveries can be made on a Monday, Wednesday and a Friday morning. Referrals are accepted from professionals and people can also self refer for the first order. The Larder runs a “community shop” which is open on a Monday until 3pm and a Thursday from 5.00 pm until 6.30 pm.
The shop is designed to support those on low incomes helping them to stretch their food budgets whilst at the same time alleviating food waste. A “Let’s Cook” initiative is also offered at the Larder, which provides free cookery classes designed to teach participants on limited incomes how to prepare nutritious, low-cost meals. By addressing the root causes of food insecurity and providing tailored support, we help individuals and families get back on their feet and build a more sustainable future.
