How to Nominate an Inspiring Volunteer

Nominating someone for one of our awards is a fantastic way to celebrate and recognise their volunteering work. So, if you have someone in mind, find the category that suits them best and follow the simple nomination guidelines for that particular award:

Community Volunteer of the Year

Do you know a volunteer that has stepped up in your community in the last year and really "Gone the Extra Mile"? The nomination process for this award is slightly different to the other categories in that nominations can be made by members of the public, as well as workers from the third or public sector, so get in touch if you know someone who has made a real difference.

Environmental and Education Volunteer of the Year

Volunteers involved with conservation, outdoor learning or education can be nominated for this award. Youth work, adult learning or cultural activities are all examples of volunteering in education.

Young Volunteer of the Year (Under 25)

Open to anyone under 25 years, this category is to recognise a young person who has shown a real commitment to their volunteering.  It will celebrate the work carried out by young people who give up their time to help their community; in school, at youth clubs or a voluntary organisation.

Outstanding Trustee of the Year

There are thousands of inspiring individuals who make a huge contribution to transforming our communities and society by sitting on charity boards. If you know an exceptional and influential trustee who demonstrates outstanding dedication to a charity or cause, nominate them here.

Health and Wellbeing Volunteer of the Year

This award is for individuals who give support to vulnerable people in our communities and includes mental health, disability and recovery services as well as those for children and older people.  It is also for those volunteers who are involved with healthy living initiatives including organisations connected to physical activity.

Volunteer Team of the Year

The volunteering of a team or group brought together to carry out a specific project or a community group that have come together for a specific cause will be recognised with this award.  Community Councils and Local Area Partnerships would not be eligible for this award as they are a statutory requirement.

Lifelong Commitment to Volunteering

No explanation required really! This award is for someone who’s volunteered within their community for many years to recognise their long standing dedication to volunteering.
