Before doing so, please check the database of opportunities to see if you can find what you are looking for there.

Who is this service for?

This service is for you if:

• You have specific, professional skills to offer
  or
• You are looking for a specific volunteering role which you can't find on our database.
  or
• You want to work from home / have time constraints which will require a 'customised' role developed for you

This service is not for you if:

• You are looking for befriending work, work in day centres or with children, or basic admin etc.: it is likely that you'll find something using our database that will be suitable;
  or
• You are uncertain of what you would like to do and are wanting to field a general enquiry
  or
• You wish to use the service to advertise goods and services in exchange for a financial or other reward. (Try using Third Force News to advertise to the voluntary sector)

How it works

The information you enter will be sent to all the agencies for whom we have an e-mail address.

Organisations will contact you at your email address in response. Please be aware that you may get any number of replies, though you can probably expect 4 or 5.

As far as we know the organisations we work with have an ethical approach to sharing data - it is unlikely that using your email address in this way will result in you being sent spam emails. If in doubt, set up a temporary email acount just for this purpose.

While most of the organisations with whom we have contact give their volunteers a terrific experience, Volunteer Centre East Lothian cannot guarantee the quality of your volunteering experience with an organisation.
