The first three organisations to achieve Volunteer Friendly status in East Lothian – Strive Befriending Service, Changes Volunteer Project and the Scottish Prostate Cancer Charity, were presented with their Awards at the Volunteer Organisers Forum hosted by Volunteer Centre East Lothian on the 28th November. Volunteer Friendly is a simple, user-friendly, quality standard designed by Volunteer Centre Dundee to support, recognise and reward groups who are good at involving volunteers. Feedback from the successful organisations about Volunteer Friendly was very positive with them all agreeing that the process was straightforward and easy to follow and that it had been a useful exercise to take time to review and update their policy and practice with regard to involving volunteers.
